Emily and Jacob
Christian Children’s Books
By Ann M. Macey |
 |
“Hi,
we’re Emily and Jacob! We were created by Ann M. Macey
so that everyone would know how our traditional Christmas decorations are
reminders of the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Besides our
Christmas
story,
we hope that you will also enjoy our
Easter
story
and our
Valentine's Day story."
A note

Dear Parents,
Grandparents, and Guardians:
It is my hope that these stories will act as a useful tool for you
as you lead your young family members to The Lord. It is my
belief that The Lord’s purpose was not for me to instruct your
children with these stories, but to arouse positive thoughts and
questions from your young ones so that you may guide them to the
truth of His Word.
Do not be anxious that the content may be too advanced for the
intended age group. The Lord guided this message and He will permit
them to fully understand in their own time.
May you be richly blessed as you share these stories with your loved
ones. And, may Our Lord Jesus be glorified each time they are read.
In His Service,
Ann M. Macey

"Grandma, Why Are There Nails Hanging On Your Tree?"
by
Ann M. Macey, Illustrated by Laurie A. Faust, Edited by Nina Mozdzanowski,
About the Book
Emily and Jacob visit their grandmother during the Christmas season. Grandma's
house is decorated with the usual crèche, wreath, and Christmas tree adorned
with lights, ornaments, bows, berries, etc. But today, the children are very
eager to know why everyone decorates as they do for the Christmas season... and
why does Grandma have nails hanging on her Christmas tree?
Grandma gives them insight as to the real meaning of Christmas by using these
decorations as learning tools. The children learn that Jesus Christ, and the
purpose of His birth, is what should be recognized above all other distractions
created by man during this holiday.

and they recognize that this inheritance in theirs by faith. As the

"A Valentine for
Jesus"
by
Ann M. Macey
About the Book
As Emily
and Jacob prepare for Valentine’s Day, Jacob does not want his friend, Joey, to
be included as he makes Valentines for all of his classmates. Joey has broken
one of Jacob’s favorite toys and Jacob is unwilling to forgive him.
Emily recalls a Sunday School lesson on forgiveness as Grandpa guides the
children to understand that Jesus forgives us every time we hurt Him, and He
expects us to forgive others in the same manner. Their discussion ends with
Jacob seeking The Lord for forgiveness and both of the children giving their
hearts to Jesus.

Ann Macey lives
in Western Massachusetts with her husband, Wayne. Although she has no children
of her own, her step-daughter Kim has given her the privilege of being a
grandmother. Ann has worked as a dental hygienist since 1972. She enjoys
cooking, interior decorating, Caribbean travel, and her granddaughter.
Ann
came to know the value of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ in 1976.
The disregard of His birth during the month of December has been a constant
‘thorn’ to her. For this reason, she has made a diligent effort to purge her
holiday decorating of secular influences.
Finally
after years of confessing this dilemma to The Lord, He rewarded Ann’s efforts in
December of 2004 with the theme for GRANDMA, WHY ARE THERE NAILS HANGING ON YOUR
TREE? Soon after this book was published she was inspired to write her Easter
story and Valentine’s Day story. |
